2. Acceptance of the terms
Use of the website www.bluehomecostarica.com and the placement of any order imply that you have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy Policy published on this same website.
If you do not agree with any of these provisions, you must refrain from using the site. For additional questions before purchasing, you may contact us through the channels indicated above.
BlueHome reserves the right to modify, add or remove any of these conditions at any time. Modifications take effect from the moment they are published on the site. Orders in progress will be governed by the version in force at the time of confirmation.
3. Legal capacity of the customer
To purchase on this site, you declare that you are of legal age (18 years or older) and have full legal capacity to contract under Costa Rican law. If a purchase is made by a minor, it must be authorized by their legal representative, who assumes responsibility for the transaction.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the website —including logos, brand identity, photographs, illustrations, texts, product descriptions, color palette, graphic design and source code— is the exclusive property of Blue Home Hospitality S.A. or has been used under license.
Reproduction, copying, distribution, modification, transmission, public display, sale or any other commercial use is prohibited without the prior written authorization of BlueHome. Unauthorized use constitutes an infringement of the Costa Rican Copyright and Related Rights Act (Law N° 6683) and other applicable regulations.
5. Product presentation
Product photographs and descriptions are updated regularly. However, colors, textures and dimensions may vary slightly from the actual product due to the characteristics of each screen (calibration, brightness, contrast). BlueHome does not guarantee an exact correspondence between what is displayed on screen and the physical product, within reasonable e-commerce standards.
Decorative props shown in the photographs are for illustration purposes only and are not included unless expressly stated in the product description.
6. Availability, prices and promotions
- Some items may be exclusive to online sales and not available in the physical store, and vice versa.
- Prices and promotions published may differ between the website and the physical store.
- All prices include the applicable Value Added Tax (VAT).
- Prices may change without prior notice. The applicable price is the one published at the time of order confirmation.
- Promotions, discounts and coupons have limited validity, may not be combined with other offers unless expressly stated, and are not redeemable for cash.
If a paid product is not available in inventory, BlueHome will notify the customer at the registered email and offer, at the customer's choice: (i) a substitute product of equal or greater value, (ii) a store credit for the amount paid, or (iii) a full refund through the original payment method.
7. Online purchase process
- The customer creates an account providing name, identification, address, phone and email.
- Selects the products and adds them to the cart.
- At checkout, indicates the shipping address or chooses in-store pickup.
- Completes payment through the available methods.
- The order enters "Pending" status until payment is verified.
- Once payment is verified, BlueHome issues the invoice and prepares the shipment.
- The customer receives shipping tracking information.
- A post-sale follow-up is conducted to verify delivery and service quality.
The delivery period begins upon payment verification, not at the time of order placement.
8. Payment terms and conditions
Transactions are processed through the BAC Credomatic payment gateway, secured with SSL protocol to protect customer data.
Accepted payment methods
- Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, as applicable).
- Bank transfer or SINPE Móvil to the Blue Home Hospitality S.A. account.
Store credit notes, gift cards or loyalty points are not accepted as payment for online purchases unless the system expressly enables it.
BlueHome does not store credit or debit card information. All transactions are subject to verification and approval by the issuing bank.
BlueHome is not responsible for the misuse of stolen or lost cards, provided the issuing bank has authorized the transaction and the data matches the cardholder's record.
9. Shipping terms and conditions
- Shipments are sent through Correos de Costa Rica and are governed by its operational policies, available at correos.go.cr.
- Shipments are dispatched Tuesday through Friday before noon.
- Shipping costs are borne by the customer and calculated based on package weight and destination.
- Estimated delivery time is up to 8 business days from dispatch, but may vary depending on the area and Correos de Costa Rica's operations.
- It is the customer's responsibility to verify that the registered address is correct and complete. BlueHome does not assume additional costs for reshipments due to incorrect addresses.
- If a package is returned to BlueHome for reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, absence, failure to collect from the post office), the customer must cover the cost of a second shipment. If the customer chooses not to receive the order, BlueHome will retain the original shipping cost and refund the remaining balance.
Damage in transit
The customer must inspect the product upon receipt. Any visible damage to the packaging or product must be reported to compras@bhhcr.com within 48 hours of receipt, attaching photographs of the packaging, the product and the shipping label. Reporting within this period allows us to handle the claim more efficiently. The expiry of this period does not limit the warranty rights (Section 11) or the right of withdrawal (Section 13) granted to you by law.
10. In-store pickup
If the customer selects in-store pickup, BlueHome will notify the registered email when the order is ready for collection.
To collect the order, the customer must present:
- Identification document.
- Invoice or order number.
- The card used for payment, if paid electronically.
If a third party collects the order, they must be previously authorized by email to compras@bhhcr.com and present identification.
Orders not collected within 30 calendar days of notification will be returned to inventory and the amount paid will be available as in-store credit, valid for six months.
11. Warranty
In accordance with Article 43 of the Law for the Promotion of Competition and Effective Consumer Defense (Law N° 7472), all products carry an implicit warranty for manufacturing defects.
The consumer has up to 30 calendar days from product delivery to claim warranty with BlueHome, or from the moment hidden defects are discovered.
For durable goods (appliances, furniture, lighting), the manufacturer's warranty applies, which may not be less than what is established by Law 7472.
The warranty does not cover: damage caused by misuse or negligence, modifications or repairs made by third parties, normal wear and tear, accidental damage or damage from external causes.
Warranty claim procedure
- The customer emails compras@bhhcr.com detailing the defect and attaching: invoice, product photographs and description of the issue.
- BlueHome has up to 15 business days to review the case with the corresponding supplier.
- If the warranty applies, BlueHome will proceed, as appropriate, to: (i) repair the product, (ii) replace it with an identical one, (iii) offer a similar product if the original is not available, or (iv) refund the amount paid, including the original shipping cost if covered by the customer.
- If the technical analysis determines that the defect was caused by misuse, modification or external cause, the warranty does not apply and the customer will be notified at the registered email.
12. Exchange policy for in-store purchases
For purchases made at the physical store, exchanges are accepted within 30 calendar days of purchase, provided the following conditions are met:
- The product must be in new condition, unused, undamaged, with all original tags and packaging.
- The original purchase invoice must be presented.
- The exchange is made for a product of equal or greater value (in the latter case, the customer pays the difference).
- If the exchange is for a product of lower value, the difference is delivered as store credit valid for six months, not as a cash refund.
- If the product was purchased on promotion, the credit amount will be the one stated on the invoice, not the regular price.
Not eligible for exchange
- Customized or made-to-order products.
- Personal hygiene, intimate-use or baby-care products once opened.
- Scents, diffusers and candles whose original packaging has been removed.
- Perishable products, snacks or opened cosmetics.
- Final-sale products ("last chance").
- Products damaged by the customer after delivery.
For in-store purchases, cash refunds do not apply, except in cases of warranty fulfillment as described in section 11.
13. Right of withdrawal (online purchases)
In accordance with Article 40 of the Law for the Promotion of Competition and Effective Consumer Defense (Law N° 7472) and the electronic-commerce provisions of its Regulation (Executive Decree N° 37899-MEIC and its amendments), customers who purchase through www.bluehomecostarica.com have the right to withdraw from the contract without responsibility and without justifying their decision, within eight (8) business days following the receipt of the product.
How to exercise the right of withdrawal
- Email compras@bhhcr.com with the subject "Right of Withdrawal", indicating: full name, order number, invoice number and reason (justification is not required).
- Return the product in its original packaging, unused, with all tags, accessories and documentation.
- The cost of return shipping is the customer's responsibility, unless the product has manufacturing defects.
Refund
BlueHome has a maximum period of 8 calendar days from receipt of the returned product to refund the full amount received, including the original shipping cost, through the same payment method used in the transaction.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
In accordance with the exceptions set out in the Regulation cited, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- Consumable, perishable products or those that cannot be resold once opened, installed or used.
- Customized, made-to-order products or those manufactured according to customer specifications.
- Products imported by special customer request, when BlueHome demonstrates it had already manufactured or ordered the item from the supplier.
- Personal hygiene, intimate-use or baby-care products that have been opened for sanitary reasons.
14. Gift cards
- Gift cards issued by BlueHome are valid for one year from the date of issue.
- They are redeemable for products, not for cash.
- They are not refundable or rechargeable.
- BlueHome is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced gift cards.
- They can be used in one or multiple purchases until the balance is depleted. Any unused balance at expiration may be reactivated at the customer's request within thirty (30) calendar days following expiration.
- They cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly stated.
15. Customer reviews and content
By posting reviews, comments, photographs or any content on the site or on BlueHome's social media tagging the brand, the customer grants BlueHome a free, non-exclusive, worldwide and indefinite-term license to reproduce, display and use such content for commercial, promotional or editorial purposes, with attribution where possible.
The customer declares to be the owner of the rights to the content posted and indemnifies BlueHome against any third-party claims arising from its use.
BlueHome reserves the right to remove content it considers offensive, false, illegal or contrary to these terms.
16. Limitation of liability
BlueHome is responsible for the quality of the products sold in accordance with the law and applicable warranty. In no event shall BlueHome be liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, loss of opportunities or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the products acquired.
BlueHome's total liability to the customer, for any cause, shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the customer for the product in question.
17. Force majeure and unforeseen events
BlueHome shall not be responsible for non-compliance or delays arising from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, social conflicts, decisions by public authorities, telecommunications or energy service failures, payment gateway failures, or operational issues attributable to Correos de Costa Rica or other logistics providers.
In these cases, BlueHome will notify the customer and agree on measures to fulfill the delivery or, if not possible, proceed with a refund of the amount paid.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is declared null, invalid or unenforceable by a competent authority, the remaining provisions will retain their full validity and effect.
19. Language and versions
These Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy are published in Spanish and English. The Spanish version is the only official one; in the event of any discrepancy or doubt of interpretation between the two versions, the Spanish version shall prevail.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any dispute arising from their interpretation or application will be resolved before Costa Rican courts or, as applicable, before the National Consumer Commission (CNC) of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce.

BlueHome commits to responding to any complaint within a maximum of 5 business days. If the customer does not receive a satisfactory response, they may turn to the National Consumer Commission (CNC) of the MEIC.
